​In September 2020, the Hampton Planning Board, prepared and mailed to residents and property owners a survey asking what they would like to see in Hampton, and what they liked best about Hampton. The overwhelming request of Hamptonites is to keep Hampton a rural farming community. Working towards the majority’s wishes, the planning board applied for a grant to help with the cost incurred with preparing an Agricultural Farmland Protection plan and was very excited to be awarded a $25,000 grant. Last week, the Hampton Planning Board hosted their first information gathering discussion with 11 of our Hampton farmers. This meeting is the first of many to be held as well as public meetings in the future.
